ClosetAI ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the safeguards we put in place — with particular care around your payment and billing data.

1. Information we collect

To provide the service we collect: the email address and name you provide on sign-up; the wardrobe items, photos, and styling preferences you upload; and limited device/usage data used to keep the app secure and reliable. We do not sell your information to any third party.

2. How your client information is protected

  • All access to your account is authenticated, and your wardrobe data is isolated so only you can view, edit, or delete your own items.
  • Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections in transit and held in a secured, access-controlled database at rest.
  • Internal access to stored data is strictly limited to authorised personnel and only on a need-to-know basis.
  • You may export or permanently delete your account and wardrobe data at any time by contacting us.

3. Protection of payer & payment information

Your financial safety is a top priority. ClosetAI does **not** receive, store, or process your card numbers, bank details, or any full payment credentials. Payments are handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment gateway (PayFast), on their secured, encrypted checkout pages.

  • Card data never touches our servers. Card numbers, CVVs, and banking details are entered directly on the payment gateway and are never transmitted to or stored by ClosetAI.
  • Encrypted transactions. Every payment is submitted over the gateway's secure, encrypted connection.
  • Fraud screening. The gateway performs real-time fraud and risk checks to protect you against unauthorised transactions.
  • Signature verification. Payment notifications are cryptographically verified before your subscription status is updated, so the system cannot be tricked into granting access.
  • Minimal records. We only retain a transaction reference and outcome (successful/failed) — never your sensitive payment details.

4. Data security commitments

We apply industry-standard organisational and technical measures to safeguard your information, including encryption, access controls, and regular security review. In the unlikely event of a data incident affecting your information, affected users and the relevant authorities will be notified in line with applicable law (including South Africa's POPIA).

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of ClosetAI after a change indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
